Guru Tegh Bahadur, Savior of Hindus
A GHOSH
The recent march in Delhi by Kashmiri Pundits, clamoring for the observation of a proper and more respectful Guru Tegh Bahadur Day is an indication of the growing realization among the Hindus how their true heroes have been deliberately overlooked by India’s ‘secularist’ elements. These elements led by Nehru and Gandhi in the past and by the Kesris and Gujrals of today, would not do anything that might even remotely be construed as a reminder of past blanket persecutions of the Hindus by the Mohammedans.
However, it is a pity that this land of Bharat that had once been dubbed as the land of the truth, where truth is said to prevail, has shamelessly been turned into a land of lies. It is shameful that the nation’s President, Shanker Dayal Sharma, thought it fit to issue a statement calling Guru Tegh Bahadur as the ninth Guru of the Sikh community (emphasis mine) of India, forgetting that this Guru, the father of Guru Gobind Singh, was the savior of the Hindus of Kashmir from the clutches of Aurangzeb, the devil that ruled India for several decades. Aurangzeb had destroyed more than 10,000 Hindu temples during his life-time; had prevented Hindu marriage ceremonies from being held during day-time, as is still practiced in the South, by kidnapping the would-be brides etc. And today our children are forbidden to read the true facts of Indian history, thanks to the fatwa of the so-called National Council of Education, Research and Training (NCERT). How long shall we put up with this pantomime?
As for the Kashmiri Pundits, it is better late than never. They were hoodwinked by Jawahar; he had led them to believe that all Kashmiris were a cut above other Indians. Kashmiri Hindus had perhaps thought that they were related to the new rulers and had thus become super-secular like the rulers; they were Kashmiris first, Indians next and Hindus last. That wrong impression has now vanished; there is no doubt that the Kashmiri Hindus had been taken for a ride by Nehru with strong Islamic roots. It is also a good omen that the earth from Haldighati is being used as tilak in ceremonies abroad by several NRIs. The truth is finally trickling out. We need to keep a close watch on all these ‘secularists’ including those Mohammedan turn-coats who call themselves ‘secularists’ only in India!
