Lanka Beaten By Trinidad in One Dayer
SAN FERNANDO (Trinidad and Tobago): The host team of Trinidad and Tobago beat the tourist Sri Lankan team in a one -day match by three wickets in a rain curtailed encounter, June 4.
Surprisingly it was a low scoring match considering the batting hurricanes that the two teams possess. However, the hosts had theng batsman S Ragoonath who compiled a dashing century and remained unbeaten. Record Holder Brian Lara made only 21 runs.
Sri Lanka scored 226 for 8 wickets in their 50 overs and Trinidad and Tobago replied with 215 for seven, enough to beat the visitors following the revised target.
